Hey it's Sarai! So my school has after-school programs, and sometimes they bring in this company called Mad Science. They come and do super fun science experiments with us. One time, we made slime that glows in the dark! Another time, we made a volcano that erupted with red foam all over the table.

Mad Science does workshops for birthday parties too, but I'm lucky because they come to my school sometimes. They teach science that connects to what we learn in class, so we're learning and having fun at the same time. My favorite experiment was when we made a balloon inflate by itself using baking soda and vinegar. I still don't totally get how it works, but it's so cool!

“Science is for everyone, even kids in elementary school.”
— Mad Science workshop leader

The scientists who come are named "mad scientists" because they wear crazy hats and glasses, and they act a little wacky. After one workshop, my teacher said she wants to book them again next month. I hope they come back soon!

There's a Mad Science program right here in Sacramento, and they travel to different places in the area. Kids in the Pocket get to do these awesome experiments, and I think every school should have them. Science isn't just boring books; it's hands-on fun that makes your brain grow. I want to be a mad scientist when I grow up, and my sister Alani says she wants to be one too!
